Breastfeeding should aLWAYS be this easy....but it isn't !
Wouldn't if be great if you could have a breastfeeding specialist visit you in the comfort of your own home? Now , here in the Coulee Region, you can! My philosophy is to Mother the Mother to allow her to become the mother she wants to be. During those early postpartum days and weeks , when most breastfeeding issues arise , and you are most vulnerable to to ending the breastfeeding relationship before you and your baby are ready. Most health professionals agree that breastfeeding is the healthiest way to feed a baby and the AAP , CDC, WHO and other health organizations recommend exclusive breastfeeding for a minimum first 6 months of life. Continued breastfeeding , with complementary foods (if desired) is recommended minimally until 1 yr of age by the AAP and a minimum of 2 yrs of age by The World Health Organization. The health benefits for baby and mother are many and new benefits are constantly being discovered. Having a breastfeeding specialist assist you and your baby early, to get off to a great start, is the best way to ensure continued breastfeeding for the minimum (and hopefully maximum!) amount of time to achieve all of the health benefits for mothers and babies! I am available for full Postpartum Doula services or stand alone Breastfeeding Counseling services.
